Hi there, I have a 2005 L200 2.8TD from Thailand. Recently, there has been a rattle / clunking sound coming from the internal engine itself both when idle or running. It increases slightly with revs but not enough to think it's a sound coming from the cam. Mechanic reckons more likely to be crank shaft or similar? He says without having half the engine out it's hard to diagnose. Certainly a very metallic clunk as if something worn or loose. Any ideas? Many thanks and look forward to your response. Ross.
