Hi everyone, I just bought a 2003 Montero Sport LS and have a significant coolant leak from the connection of this plastic outlet elbow and the body of the radiator.
In the image below, its the elbow in the bottom left corner pointing upwards, held on by 4 bolts. I'm replacing the radiator this weekend, but am reading that the same problem happens again with the replacement radiator. Supposedly the bolts can ship loose from the factory?
My question is, does anyone know the torque spec for these 4 bolts that connect the outlet elbow to the radiator? I'd like to tighten them down before pressurizing the system, but don't want to overtighten and crack plastic or crush a gasket. I've called the local dealerships and nobody knows, checked my service manual and no mention of it. The elbow doesn't even have a part number!
