My 98 Eclipse GS won't run in "D"! :(

My 98 Eclipse GS won't run in "D"! :(

So When I drive my car, its pretty good for a minute or two... then i stop at a stop sign or something, and try to accelerate but the car doesn't move, it just revs

... can anyone tell me what it could be??

Sounds like the trans is gone, check the fluid and see if it smells"burnt".
