Default OBD2 codes

Hi all, I'm new to this thread and I'm looking for some help. I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Diamante LS with 104,000 miles that I'm going to sell to my dad. It has been parked for almost a year, and therefore needed some TLC. I changed out several things, including the battery, which was not holding a charge. To make a long story short, I took it in for a Maine State Inspection today and they failed it because several OBD2 codes came back as "not ready" including the O2 sensors, the catalyst, the evap. and EGR valve. I'm wondering if maybe this is due to the fact that it has been parked for a year and has a new battery? Will this problem resolve itself if I drive the car a few times? Any knowledge on the subject is greatly appreciated.
