OIL???

RE: OIL???
Yeah, 10w30 is a little heavier, and that's what you want in the summer when temps are high and oil can thin out a little too much. Then in the winter, when EVERYTHING thickens up (manual trans oil, engine oil, etc.,) you want to run a little thinner, hence 5w30.
And I am also a strong supporter of synthetic motor oil! Mobil 1 user myself. I no longer use any conventional oil (except on the lawnmower). Only problem is that on some older vehicles, changing over to a synthetic oil when conventional oil was previously used can uncover some "leaks". Molecules in conventional oil are not of uniform shape. Think of geometric shapes such as cones, spheres, columns, and so on, all jumbled up together. The molecules in synthetic oil, however, are more uniform in shape, such as mostly spheres, and they all "fit" together better. They can also slip into tiny cracks and breaches in gasket surfaces better, sometimes leading to (very) small leaks. Not really a problem, it just makes some people think that they did something wrong by switching over. And it doesn't always cause a leak. It's usually at most an oil pan that gets a little soaked.
Off on a tangent, I know. It's a stress reliever for me, whatdoyawant!
