Default OIL LEAK?

I have oil almost all over the engine (I think) ... would this be the engine leaking oil or someone spilled it? It's not dripping and i can't really find it.
The guy I bought it off of said his mechanic (friend) said that it is leaking very bad and the powersteering pump is bad but, it's not dripping and i can't really find anything...
also someone broke two bolts off the head where the exhaust manifold is... would this be ok for a few months?

drench the engine in degreaser, scrub it down, then spray it off, run the car for a while, then look and see where most of the oil is coming from, it should be fairly easy to find, most of it is probly blowby from the exahust leak...........

This happenned to me.

Was the valve cover gasket leaking because the two top bolts that tighten it down enough to compress the rubber gasket keep jumping a thread as try to I torque it down enough.

So I could not get the valve cover to press down good enough. Oil leaking down all four sides of the engine.

I couldn't tell where it was coming from until I cleaned everything up with FOAMY ENGINE BRITE.

I got the engine hot, then shut'er down and blasted it with the degreaser foam

Waited about ten, fifteen minutes then hooked up my garden hose to the "hot" spigot of the laundry tub and then blasted the engine with steaming hot water.

Oil leaks are tricky. You gotta take the care to track'em down

since your manifold isnt bolted down tight it could be collecting around where its not sealed then dripping down to the bottom of the manifold, and your gasket probly isnt sealed properly at the bottom because of the bolts missing.........

I found the problem leaking behind the manifold.

If anyone has any broken bolts off the head where the exhaust manifold is and its leaking oil, take your manifold off and have someone stand there while you start it up for about 10 secs and if its leaking oil out of there then it would be coming out of one of the holes... (hole must not have the broken stud in it or it won't be leaking and you have a different problem) and I just put a new stud in there and a new gasket and my oil problem where the manifold is , is fixed.
