Default some type of leak in drive train??

I have a 2003 Outlander (AWD) which has appeared to have developed some type of leak in the area of the drive shaft. The fluid is yellow-greenish and appeared in the snow under the car in three spots. One is approximately where the rear tires are and two, about ten inches apart, are about halfway between the front and rear wheels. Again, these leaks appear to be right down the center of the car. Also, the car always smells "hot" after any amount of use. Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks, Bill.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked it and the tranny fluid is full (and red). This is yellowish. I'm stumped. Bill

could be coolant, check the antifreeze level and look for any leaks up by the radiator and the block, if there is one its possible its making its way down the driveshaft................
