I was going to head out of town for thanksgiving and my cousin noticed my brake lights do not come on when i step on the brake. the lights come on with i turn on the light switch but they the brake lights do not come on. My car was recently at the dealership where they had the dash out and I have an aftermarket cd player if that is relevant. So can you please give me a couple suggestions as what it could be, i checked the fuses and they appear to be fine. jordomac@hotmail.com

 

It could be that the rear bulbs are 2 filament bulbs, and simply the second one has burnt out on both. That's a lucky shot, but worth a check.

If that's not the case, then this is an electrical issue some place, and we can't help you at all.

 

Stop lamp switch is bad.

 

does the high-mount work? If so, it's probably the multifunction switch since they work with the headlights on.
