I'm pretty new to eclipse repair so Im pretty lost right now.
I recently started getting a pretty bad knocking noise on my right front end so I jacked the car up and my outer axle boot was torn open. When i grabbed onto the axle i could actually pull it in and out of the spindle a good half inch or so, but my question is is it the axle thats busted or the spindle?

 

I would bet that axle is no good, did you check the front end for any play?

 

It ended up being the axle. I went with what i assumed most and just went and bought one and installed it and the knock went away. Thanks for the input though!
