power antenna motor electrical surge shuts off a number of items.....
2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT....I was replacing power antenna into antenna motor. My wife was operating the radio so we could make sure the mast was grabbed. It bound up a bit initially and all of a sudden the radio and hence antenna stopped working (no power). I wiggled the wire plugged into the antenna motor and then we thought everything was ok. Got antenna mast in and it worked several times. My wife said (who was operating radio for me) she heard a pop....and now the radio, trunk light, interior rearview mirror lights, antenna, driver side rear back up and neither tail light works even after changing a bulb or two.........was there an electrical surge that shorted something? All fuses were inspected and look ok, but I'm wondering about these fusible links and relays???? Don't know about these. When changing a tail light bulb in the rear (same side as antenna) there was water in the fixture and the bulb was broken; I wondered if water could have been related to this but I'm thinking not since the water was probably there for a while.....I hesitate to take to shop without more detail.

problem resolved.........geeze, I didn't reseat two fuses which was part of my problem...........I think there was something real about my initial issue with things shutting down but I then compounded the problem.
thanks.
thanks.
