Default Power Window Help

Hi All,

The back passenger electric window of my Mitsubishi Diamante LS 2001 is not working. Actually, it is not doing anything It was working ok till my friend put too much weight on the glass. Now it doesn't go up or down. I try to pull the glass up manually with no luck. Track appears to be ok, but I am no window expert. Is there a way to pull the glass up with out a power? If there is way, how do I do this? Please help.

Thanks,
Desi

you cant just pull it up manually, my guess is either the motor is bad or you have a loose connection. Have you looked at it with the door panel off.

Thanks Engineer. I looked at this with door panel off. I couldn't move it. Also, I just talk to someone who fixes the power windows for cars. He is telling me that there is no way to push this manually. Only fix to this problem is to change the regulator. Is this correct?

well who knows if its the regulator. When you try and put the window up do you hear the motor trying at all? Cuz it might be the motor. The regulator is much cheaper so i guess thats a good place to start, but it may not be the problem.

Motor appears to be working. It get hot when I try to move the window up and down. However, I don’t have any way to test this. Battery...etc. Also, someone told me that the Mitsubishi doesn’t make the same regulator any more....they are little different. Therefore, I will also need to buy a new motor that fits with this new regulator. Hum I will verity this tomorrow with Mitsubishi dealer. Any idea?

Thanks for your help

search around online for the part because then you wont need to get the motor, just the regulator, and it will be much much cheaper

John, your comments are my comedy relief for the day. honestly just start small and go to the junk yard and replace the window switch first. Start with the passengers switch and then drivers. 9 times out of 10 its just the switches Good luck.
