I got a problem... i have a mitsubishi 3000 GT year 1996.... yesturday it started acting weird when i tried to accelerate it didnt seem to want to... and then the "check engine" light was coming on and off..i thought it needed an oil change so i took it but its still the same... it sux cuz i love ma car.... does anyone kno what could be the problem??????????????????????

 

Are there any mods to the car?

Can you supply a picture of the engine bay?

What gas are you putting into it?

Can you explain in detail how it feels? Sputter? Just no power?

If you want this to go a whole lot quicker, you can go to autozone and ask them to scan the check engine light... then write down the code... and tell us what it is. Then we can tell you what it is and how to fix it.

From what I'm reading though, you have an automatic and your tranny is slipping?
So, yeah, we need more info on your 3kgt and it's issue.

 

Check all of your vacuum lines. Especially anything attached to the intake plenum. Make sure there are no broken or disconnected lines and look for any cracks. How are the brakes? If the power assist unit is going bad, or if the vacuum to the unit is bad, it will cause the engine to act up and your check engine light will come on. Also, check the electrical connector to the MAF sensor.

 

well i took it to autozone and they told me to take it to the mitsibushi car dealer because they can jus scan it and tell me whats wrong with it....i hvnt driven it because i dont want to make it worse but today i drove it to my dads house because he is going to take a look at it and i left it with him.. when i was driving it and accelerated it felt like it wanted to stopit washaving troouble accelerating i had to put my foot on the gas twice like pumping it i couldnt just keep pushing it down... so i really dont know whats going to happen i just hope it doesnt die on me... my dad will hopefully send to get it fixed or something.. but thanx for all your suggestions... it helped me out got me more worried but nonetheless helped me out..
