Resetting my ecu
I recently installed an intake on my 06 galant. It has worked great aside from a dilemma of getting the fitment correct. But after a few weeks of driving it started to throw a "check engine soon" light. I knew this was going to happen from the change in the amount of air going thru the o2 sensor.
Now my problem is that i read up on resetting it, and it states taking off the negative wire from the battery to the car. Now, my nut and bolt holding the negative wire on to the terminal is stuck as hell. tried many ways of getting it off aside from bolt loosening sprays.
My question is, is there another way for me to reset my ecu without unplugging my battery? like maybe just unplugging the wire harnesses to my ecu?
Or if there isnt, can unplugging the ground cable and the positive terminal work? but i feel that isnt very safe not having the battery grounded but still hooked up to the car. Any help is appreciated.
