RVR 4g64 fuel pressure fail HELP
Hello.
I own a Mitsubishi RVR auto trans with 4g64 GDI.
My car totally has no power when there is load or I constantly rev it when idle. Engine light will come on when load is felt and the car jerks.
Fault code found was: 56 - Fuel pressure fail, which is obviously since car is thirst of fuel when there is load.
I replaced the fuel pump and strainer inside the tank but problem still exist.
I checked and clear the whole fuel hose system from tank to pump to engine.
Note: Car has sat on the yard for 3 years.
Any ideas ?

What about the fuel pressure regulator? That's the gizmo with the vacum hose/diaphram that's on the driver's end of the fuel rail. If you're in the U.S. where gas is contaminated -- er, improved -- with 10% ethanol, fuel system corrosion is a constant possibility and a stuck open regulator will sure cause fuel starvation.
Just been there, done that, with a '93 Expo LRV. Mine's a 4G93, but fuel system is the same -- in fact I swapped the regulator from a 4G94 parts car to cure the symptoms you describe. Well, except for the fault code.
Isn't there a fuel system forum? This question/thread might should be over there.
