Default Say It Ain't So!

Well I am really hoping for any help on this one guys....

I have a 2001 Diamante, 175k miles. Running VERY well, until yesterday. Driving home on the highway, then all of a sudden, it was like i was in neutral. The engine is running, but idling, i pull over and stop. I move the shifter into any gear, R, N, 1, 2, D - nothing. The engine is running, but they all feel like neutral, and the engine just revs when i hit the gas.

The check engine light also came on, I havent pulled the code yet. And right when it happened, the gear indicator on the dash was flashing between neutral and whatever position I moved the shifter to.

I tried turning the car off and on, and the engine stops and starts, but no dice with the tranny.

One other thing to note is that I had the tranny flushed, AT THE DEALER about two months ago. The tranny has run and felt great from day 1 right up until this happened. No slippage, no anything.

Before I goto the dealer, I really want to know what happened (or at least have some idea). Was the fluid changed related? Can I read the check engine code with a regular Code reader? or is a tranny code special?!

Thanks for the help People. I am really bumming right now, as you can imagine!

I hope I get to talk to you all soon,
Matt

Sounds like you had a pump failure if you have no foreward or reverse gears.

Thanks for the response.

How can I verify the pump is bad? What can I do/look at?
