Default Short Shifter

I've never had one beforen but from what i've heardn it's alot of fun. But speaking from an economical standpoint, is it expensive (including install), and is it a pain in the *** for every day street driving?

I would like to get a short shifter for my eclipse. I hate the long shifter. A shorter one would mean my arm could be mroe relaxed and be easyer to drive... Its not a pain in the *** at all

Is it seriously easy to install? Can you do it yourself? Do you recommend having it done by a professional? Also, which short shifters do you guys recommend?

Well if you have a dsm vfaq.com tell you how to install a short shifter. As for type, personal prefernce is key. Different companies have different styles.

Just because the percentage rate of the shift is lower, is it really more fun?, (to those of you with them?)
