Tire Pressure Maintenance Indicator
I just bought new winter rims for my winter tires to save money having to change tires and rims each time. The tires and rims were installed and a very annoying TPMS with big letters MAINTENANCE REQUIRED across the entire screen. I can't access my trip mileage, how many kilometres left in the fuel tank or anything else on the screen. I went into the Mitsubishi dealership and was told I would have to pay $200 for new sensors plus taking the tires off the rims to install the sensors. They can't disconnect because it is a "safety issue". So how is having this annoying message on my screen all winter - which means I will simply ignore and never know if my tire pressure is actually low "safe". I am NOT going to pay hundreds of dollars on top of the price I just paid for winter rims so the message will apparently be there all winter.
I would think this would be an important piece of information to pass on to your customers. It is common practice to get winter tires put on new rims to save money with the change over each year.
