I am from Malaysia. I drive a local Proton (similar to a Lancer) fitted with a 1.6L Mitsubishi 4G18 engine with F4A41 auto gearbox with INVECS-II. Problem is that of late, I am having shift flares (engine rpm rises between shifts) when it changes from 1-2 and 2-3. It doesn't happen alll the time but quite often and is very irritating.

I have tried resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery and also flush the ATF and refilled with SP-III oil, but it still happens though a bit better.

Any suggestions other than to change the gearbox?
