transmission issues..help!!
Brought my 98 eclipse to Firestone for clutch issues. They said I needed a new clutch. 1700.0 later and I get the car back and now its making a "coffee perculating" sound when it cold starts until I push in the clutch. After having it back there 3 times (first they said it was a missing clip when they replaced the clutch, then a sprocket plate) now they are saying my transmission is going. It never made that sound before they touched it. They said they will refund me 500.00 but that's not going to cover a new transmission. Are they to blame? Could they have screwed up my tranny while replacing the clutch? The manager said the clutch and transmission go hand in hand and that my bad clutch broke caused the transmission issues. car has 40,000 miles, is a 4 cylinder. My other option is they will send an adjuster out to look at it, but if they find its not their fault then I will lose the 500.00 credit. Advice please???
