I have a 91 GS 1.8 .. now when the engine is cold or has not been running for a good 5-8 hours i have issues trying to get it to start. If it starts right up, it runs rough until the engine is warm then it runs like normal. I have checked the battery, starter, alternator and spark plugs. All are in good condition.

This morning I had to crank it like 5-6 times and press the gas pedal to the floor to get it going. It sounds like it wants to turn over but doesnt. My interior lights, radio all work fine when i was doing this. Someone please advise! I am broke and scared!

Do you have an air intake on it?

 

It sounds like it wants to turn over? Are you meaning the engine is cranking over but it's just not starting? If it's turning over then I'd recommend plugs and wires.
