Lancer 2002 starting issues
Hi,
I have just purchased a used 2002 Lancer CE Gli.
I jumped in the car the other evening in the rain and the car wouldn't start. Assuming it was a flat battery, I decided to leave it til the next day to deal with. When i went to jump start it the next day, nothing happened so I assumed it was the starter motor. However, when i went to lock the car with my remote, the alarm wouldnt work and the car started making a noise like the alarm was going off but at a softer level. The only way i could get it to stop was to lock the car manually with the key. Now the remote doesn't work at all and when i do get in the car after unlocking it manually, all i get is a clicking noise inside the cabin and of course the car doesn't start.
I am new to Mitsubishi cars and have no idea how the alarm system or immobilisers work in the car!!!
Can someone please help me?

The Battery? how old is it anyways?
JUMP START IT AND drive it around to charge the battery and then leave and start it again. if the starter spins when the battery is low that is not the problem.
check voltage regulator and battery
the regulator charges the battery i think

So the car still wont start?? I had A blazer once and the dame thing did the same thing. I found out that on the remote, there was a special button you had to push and holdto turn the anti-theft system off. It sat for days till i got in touch with the previous owner 6 months later,it was difficult. but yeah f@$%ed up $#!t that was.
