weird AC problem
It's been a hot summer in my Spyder without AC. I've taken it to two shops and both have different opions of what's wrong. Please offer any advice. When I start the car in the morning and the outside ambient temp is below 70 F. the AC and defrost works well until I get on the freeway for a few miles. At that point the green light on the blower control starts blinking, the AC compressor quits, and the system blows ambient temperature outside air. If the outside ambient temp is above 70 F. when I start the car in the morning, the green light begins blinking within seconds and the compressor shuts down immediately. After the intitial start in the morning, the green light blinks all the time and the compressor never starts. The problem is obviously temp. related but I don't know of any thermal controlled switch in the compressor circuit. Any ideas would certainly be appreciated. Finally, the first shop said the compressor is bad and had to be replaced at $900.00+. The second shop said it was an electrical problem and they had no access to a Mitsubishi AC circuit diagram. Help!!! I'm drowning in my own sweat.

I have same problem. Seems like pressure may be getting too high and cutting off compressor. My a/c works fine till I start driving around or it's really hot. Trying to figure if there some way I can monitor the pressure switch signal when I'm driving and it cuts off
