whats an idler pully, what does it affect on 3000gt

Default whats an idler pully, what does it affect on 3000gt

my car idles alot and i heard that there was an idler pully that i could replace. will it help reduce the problem or is it a was of time

I assume by your saying your car idles alot, you mean it idles high. A new idler pully would'nt help in such a case. Its main job is to guide and keep tension on your belt. It's probably your idle sensor or a vacuum problem (vacuum hose loose ect.) It could be due to other problems but those are the 1st things I would check.

It doesn't idle on the RPM, but on the MPH scale. i thought it was the injectors, but it wasn't.

Wait so you are idleing on the MPH(wont rev i'm assuming) most likely vacuum leak like the other guy said.

HAHA definatley a newbie question...thats ok though...search around and there are tons of posts about that
