Wireless key fobs worked, then one suddenly didn't again.
Hello everyone. My wife and I own a 2017 Outlander Sport. One day our main key fob stopped working, but the other one was fine. I decided to just change the batteries in both remotes since they were probably originals. After I changed the batteries, same thing.
I used one of the reprogramming methods I found online and both key fobs worked with locking and unlocking doors.
Suddenly, the 1st key stopped working again but the 2nd key kept working. So now we've been using her key since that's the one that stayed working but my key does the following:
Flashes red on the key fob and will unlock the doors when nearby but won't do anything else.
Just to be as specific as possible we have the rectangular key with the remote part built into the top. Found an image of what it looks like.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I have to buy a new one, I'll bite the bullet and do it, but I have no guarantee it won't just decide to stop working suddenly too.
