I know VERY little about cars other than common sense. My 2002 Mitsubishi Galant recently had NO power at all, although it could be jumped.

I suspect that the only problem was a terrible battery from a company that refurbishes used batteries and sells them as new. HOWEVER, the crooked mechanic claims that the alternator was bad and charged $382 for that (the battery was still under warranty). I think the mechanic just popped in the free replacement battery and charged the $382 for nothing.

What does the alternator in a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant look like, and where is it located?
