Hi,

I have a Carisma from 1998, 78.000 Km. The car runs ok but there's something which is anoiyng me since 8 months: when the engine is worm (normal temperature) I see the RPM indicator going a bit up then a bit down, and, of course I can hear the engine doing the same, too. When the indicator is pointing to 0 then the engine led is turnin on, but after 1-2 sec is going back up a bit and the light dissapears. What can that be guys?
I have changes recently the sparks.... no effect. Some other people are saying hat I should change the fuel filter. Any idea?

 

some idle revving is normal. try the fuel system first it could be either the filter or the injectors, injector cleaner is the cheapest quick check ( and not a bad thing to do even if that's not it) then the fuel filter. now you've got spark but how is the rest of the charging system ( battery, alternator,etc.,) if the problem persists it could be a sensor or ecu problem (take it to a shop)
