I have a 1996/'97 Eclipse GS-T, Turbo with a 5 speed manual trans, [vehicle made in Dec. 1996 but most say it a '97 ?] that I was having a hard time getting to pass the emission test due to three [3] codes that would not clear.

I finally found a knowledgeable emissions/smog place and the fellow there told me that these cars are known for not being able to clear those codes and so they exempt them!

He did the complete smog test and everything passed just fine !!

Prior to taking my Eclipse to the smog place, I did run a couple of cans of SeaFoam fuel system cleaner through it as well as pulling the spark plugs, NGK Platium Dual-tip, out and cleaned them good and gaped them but little was needed, as well as expanding the connectors on the spark wires to ensure good connection in the coil connectors, but that's it.
