well, actually, I have been searching ....which is what lead me here. You see, sometimes, communication is the best way to exchange ideas.....other than insults.
I have manuals for the 4d56, 4m40 and 4m41. They tell me a lot about torque specifications and engine maintenance....but they don't tell me anything about gross weight, block length, height or bolt patterns.
why again did I join this forum?

what do you offer this board? I haven't seen any sign you know a damned thing about cars beyond how to install your cheesy car stereo.

when I want an opinion from a pimply-faced tosser, I'll title the thread "Flaming Anus".

And what the hell are you offering. All you have been doing since you joined is whining and questioning everybody here. If you dont like it here than get the **** out.

ok, I'm a little hesitant to wade into this thread under the circumstances....but this topic is exactly why I joined. I'm interested in importing a 4M41 turbo diesel and installing it in a potential variety of cars. My understanding is this engine has been used in Pajero/Monteros, L200-L400s. So, I'm guessing that all configurations are inline mounts. If I wanted to mount this in a Lancer, Galant, Diamante that would require transverse mounting.
I'm curious if anybody knows a source for engine specs like length, height, weight of long block, also flywheel diameter.....if this is the same flywheel used in other mitsu engines.

Right now, I own a dodge minivan. Considering the past relationship between Mopar and Mitsu, I would think the mitsu engines could also be dropped into mopar vehicles without too much difficulty. Probably be able to get away with bell housing swap from mid eighties k car or something. I'd love an L400 but even if I import, I doubt I would be able to get it tagged. Apparently, they also offered a VR Diamante...just not in North America.

any thoughts? anybody know the 4m4's?

so, are you really blaming me because this is all way over your head?

remind me again who has nothing to contribute but smarmy bs?

I would doubt that the 4m41 would fit easily or at all for that matter into at least the Lancer or Galant. The Lancer, for instance has a small 4cyl, whereas the 4m41 being a 3.2L prolly wouldnt even fit between the strut towers. Though, I find it to be an interesting conversion given the current prices of petro.

PS- Theres no way anyones getting a 6g72tt in a 2g.
