Has anyone painted their brake calipers?
Using a brush in painting car parts is a big NONO! trust me, you won't achieve the desired effect and beauty if you you use this tool. Better consider spray paint can. It's more convenient, easy to use and the result is splendid! The spray paint's quality is exceptionaly balanced compared to paint brush. I already tried using spray paint in-can a few years ago when me and my colleague were asked to fix and paint my uncle's Cadillac hood. I tell you what; try to make a sample using spray paint in-can on some stuffs. If you're not amused enough, then go use a paint brush.

Bro you can't compare painting a hood to calipers. For calipers you can go either way. And as for a hood, yeah spraying it always will come out better, everyone knows that. You're trying to compare apples to oranges here. A hood is made out of soft metal or in some cases like mine cf,while calipers are made of eh I forget what exactly but its a way harder metal, so when you lay down the paint it'll take it differently. And calipers aren't really the smoothest thing out there, as to a hood which is
My cousin and I sprayed mine red with caliper paint..I got it at Advance Auto...you have to take your brakes apart and grind the rust and corrosion off and then clean them well with brake cleaner and blow the dust off with an airhose and then spray them with the caliper paint...Mine has held very well for a year and a half now.
Although that is the right way. I painted my buddies (he wanted it done this way, cuz he was in a rush for a car show) and we just sprayed it down with brake cleaner and let it dry, then painted them with a brush, and its still good a year of massachusetts weather later
In the end it all just depends on how well of a job you do. That's what it comes down to, cuz I've used both and don't really notice a difference and they take about the same time to execute

Well I've done it both ways, and when I brushed them there weren't any streaks or marks. And for some showcars they didn't give me enough time to grind them down, not even take them off. Just painted them on the car and the paint still hasn't chipped a year later
