How To Reset "Service Required" Light?
I have a 1989 Mitsubishi Montero LS Sport with 6 cylinder 3.0 liter engine that just passed 200,000 miles....the "Service Required" Light has come on. How do you reset the "Service Required" light??? I have serviced the transmission, transfer box, and the complete 3.0 liter engine as fully as possible. I cannot locate the switch in the dashboard to "throw" to reset the "Service Required" light for the next 200,000 miles. I understand that this switch is somewhere behind the dashbord. Does anyone know precisely WHERE this "reset switch" is located? How do you reach it? In the meantime the "Service Required" light stays on continually! Thank you so much. Scooter[/align]

RE: How To Reset "Service Required" Light?
hello! the switch your asking about is on the back side of the instrument cluster. you dont have to completely remove it to get access to the switch.pop off the top trim piece and look on the left side of the cluster, its just a little black toggle switch, very small. just simply use a pair of angle pliers or something small that is curved on the end to stick in there and simply move it up or down. depending on what postion its in, simply move it to the opposite postion. you cant use a scanner to clear that light. battery disconnect wont work either. have to move that toggle switch!! good luck!! greg....
