Default I'm new to this but have a question

I'm sort of at a loss right now. I own a 2004 mitsubishi Eclipse RS. I bought the car brand new in August '04.
Okay, so I brought my car into the dealership today because I felt something was wrong with the clutch. I was right, the clutch needs to be replaced. I have 30,000kms on my car. And let me tell you, I have owned old vehicles all my life up until this one and I have never worn out a clutch in my life yet. I do not ride my clutch and I never start in second gear (well not all the time, hey I'm not perfect). But my thoughts are, even if I did ride the clutch it still shoudn't go in that little km's. am I wrong?
Anyways, its going to cost me 1200 bucks for a new clutch on my brand new vehicle and nothing is covered under warrenty...unless they take it apart and find out the clutch went due to something other than wear and tear.

Does anyone know of this happening to other Eclipses? is this a common thing? is there ANYTHING I can do? or is my only option to suck it up and have it fixed and just pay for it?

thanks in advance for all your help.

well 1200 seems like kinda a rip to fix it. But anyway, i have no idea why that wore so fast.
