Key or something else?
Girlfriends 2001 Gallant has developed a problem. Searched, but did not find a similar thread.
30 days ago the car would start, idle 1-2 seconds, die. After multiple starts it would start and run.
Ran fine until yesterday, and again today. Same thing.
A mechanic stated he thought the key transponder might be going bad. After doing some searches, I found this could be true. A key maker said he could reprogram the key for $40.
Anyone had this problem and had it resolved?
Thanks

Thanks to those who posted suggestions.
Turned out to be the cam position sensor. Thermal breakdown would occur and cool off allowed it to operate.
Mechanic found it on a o-scope, low voltage after proper voltage start.
