Mitsubishi Motors in deep trouble

Mitsubishi Motors in deep trouble
[]
I was reading an article in my local paper on Saturday stating Mitsubishi has once again covered up several defective parts on vehicles to avoid issuing a very expensive recall campaign.
This, and the recent news that Daimler/Chrysler is not injecting any new funds into the corporation may be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Will Mitsubishi find a way out of this mess, or do you think they will go bankrupt, or be bought out by someone?

im hoping that they do some sort of recall on the 95 turbo motors for crankwalk.. either that if i end up getting it (and i hope i dont.. well kinda if i can get a new motor)they will replace it.. .. did that article give any ideas as to what they may have been covering up?

They have been covering up a ton of recalls in like there busses and big trucks I heard in Japan, and some people died because like the upper ball joint came out and the tire on the bus killed someone.

RE: Mitsubishi Motors in deep trouble
i read an interesting article about the 2g crankwalk. it was written by a garage that specialized in rebuilding 4g63 motors. i guess they got tired of blaming cranks and looked deeper into the situation. They cut a 1g motor and a 2g motor in half through the journals and found that the 2g eclipse had smaller oil squirters and that they were actually mini check valves. very prone to clogging. the main decision was that the heavy clutch coupled with a single thrust bearing and zero oil pressure at startup through the clogged squirters caused the crank (defective or new) to walk.
Their fixes included- addition of second thrust bearing, cleaning of squirters and most important. disconnection of clutch switch. ie starting the car without pushing the clutch in.
Now im not responsible if you do this and forget to put it in neutral, id suggest putting it on a switch so new drivers can have it like normal. But it would be the best way to extend the life of a nearly crankwalkled engine.
