Default my montero is over heating help

My 1997 montero v6 3.5 engine temp gauge has shown over heating yet the engine is not hot. Is the gearbox oil cooler the problem ? I have replaced the temp sensor, thermostat, and drain the system and refilled it with fresh antifreeze. Also bought new radiator cap and it still shows over heat . Help if you might know.
