Default Question For Everyone and anyone.. Help

i have a 01 eclipse gs, with the 4g64 2.4L I4 cylender, and i have a clogged oil pump so everytime i rev under 1000 the light goes on, now instead of replacing the whole engine, my friend has a 4g63 head with internals i can use, and i would jus need to buy waterpump, oil pump, and timing belt and maybe crank bearings.... anyone have any ideas on an easier way to do it? and if the 4g63 head with fit on my block??

My first idea would be to clean out the oil pump. Is it clogged due to sludge? If so then change your oil after you clean or replace your oil pump. Two of the quarts of oil being ATF. Run it to operating temp and a little longer. Do this again. Then change one more time, but with one quart ATF. Then drive your car. Keep an eye on your oil level, because ATF will burn faster. Change your oil every 1000 miles with the one quart ATF for about 5000 miles. Check inside your valve cover and see if the sludge is going away? If not good enough continue with the ATF until it is better. Then make sure you change your oil every 3000 miles. It is a long process, but I have done it to a couple of cars. One Camry that was so clogged that you could not poor oil threw the cap.

i have a 1994 mirage, the sticker tag says it's a 1.8 engine, the block has stamped on it 4g93, the book has 4g93 as a 1.8engine with a silent shaft. the engine i have (4g93) has no silent shaft nor belt, did they make a 1.8 without the silent shaft, i'm going crazy. standing in front of the car the timing belt is on the right side. standing on the rightside in front of the timing belt, the oil filter is on the leftside of the block, the waterpump is on the rightfront of the block, i've taken the timing belt off, i'm taken the bottom timing belt gear off, i don't see a silent shaft spocket, nor belt, nor line plug on side of the block, so what engine do i have, and do i set timing belt for a 1.5 or 1.8. It wouldn't run with 1.8 setup but it ran with 1.5 timing setup, WHAT'S THE DEAL!

first off, no dont try to put a 4g63 head in it... Just get a new oil pump.. Shouldnt need a whole new motor..The only thing that happens is the oil light comes on? does the motor make any noises?

The ATF trick can unstick lifters. Just an idea. If you had internal damage, you would hear it over the lifter.
