I wouldn't exactly say the 8G will eat it.

IMO it would be a pretty good match but if the Jetta is a sedan with a curb weight of only 3037 compared to the V6 at 3296 and the fact that it is a manual compared to a auto it would boil down to the drivers and conditions of the race. I don't think the Galant would eat the Jetta....
