Default SIT Left Leg! Stay!

I just recently purchased a new 2007 Outlander. My first automatic after 20 some odd years of driving a manual. Well I'm about 2 weeks into my new car and it finally happened. I went for a downshift on the freeway and stabbed for the clutch.

Good times. You should have to pay admission for that kind of visceral thrill.[sm=insomnia.gif]

I'm in the same boat as you. I picked up an '07 Outlander 3 weeks ago. I did the same thing the for the first, and I'm sure not the last, time a couple of days ago, and got the edge of the brake pedal. Man those are good brakes. Luckily I did it coming to a stop at an intersection.

Working on getting a truck.......so I'll most likely get have another auto here soon. I did the same thing on Monday though, I was driving my sister's car and taking my parents to the airport, and when I was getting ready to merge onto the freeway, went to downshift and it scared the **** out of me when there was no clutch, and when i finally realized that no clutch was necessary, I just floored it and got scarred again because the little POS didn't rocket off like my car and I thought I was gonna get a Peterbuilt up my ***.

In my case I din't just catch the edge. I got the break pedal good and solid. Damn near brought the car to a halt. Good breaks indeed.
