Default Some general tips? what i need to know.

So...im about to buy a auto 95 mirage coupe. the engine need to be replaced. it has like 275k on it...i dont want to spend a fortune on the car. but i dont really know anything about it. (im into VW's) but i like it.

Im just asking for some advice concerning a good engine to buy. should i buy a longblock? shortblock? whats a good sporty engine that ill be able to tune later on. maybe a good factory to buy it from?

anything helps thanks.

oh it burns oil like made. so instead of doing some intensive rebuilding. plus the person im buying the car from is my friend and she had it just loose all power and not start up on her way home from work. so she bought a nissian and sold me the mits. but sometimes it works..soo im just going to try to have some fun with it and convert it into the evo4 maybe...

so you already bought the car? i would say that that is a bad decision... if you dont know much about the car it's never a good idea to get it for a project. i dont know aobut mirages too much but i have seen a guy do a full evo conversion on one in a mag once, it was an absolutelly massive project
