Default Thinking of removing power steering

Lately Ive been thinking of removing my power steering. But before I do it will I gain any power by removing it. I had no power steering on my civic hatchback so im use to not having power steering. Has anyone took out their power steering? Did you feel any difference other than trying to turn at a stop

Yeah, you might reclaim a whole 2hp...not really worth it in my opinion.

There is a BIG difference between a car that was made to not have power steering (Rack & pinnion) and a car that was made to have power steering and just taking it out. Believe me you dont want to do it. I went about 4 months without PS and it sucks. It is so hard to turn the wheel that i think you actually get a workout driving . Your not gonna gain much doing it. So dont even bother

If it feels better for you personally... then sure go for it. Im telling you now though... its going to be a **** load harder to turn the wheel that it would be in your old hatch.

I kinda figured it will be harder than my old hatch. I got so use to the hatch tho it felt like I had power steering. I only had trouble turning the wheel when stopped
