on my 96 gsx, is a 3' really needed? or can i stick with the 2 1/2 inch piping that i have? thanks

well it depends on what your gonna be getting for mods. With 3" you will get alot better gains.

good rule of thumb anything under about 250 won't affect you using 2.5. anything 250+ i'd go with the 3".
