Default Advice on Cleaning the Mass Airflow Sensor?

My 95 Galant (221 k miles) sometimes stalls when you start to slow down. The repair technician suggested it may be the MAS, but given the age and miles, I should just get a new car. But, I've had her sinceday one (One owner!) and I'll miss her! Resources on the web for other vehicle types suggest cleaning the MAS does wonders and is pretty easy "IF" you know what you're doing. Any tips for doing this on the Galant? Thanks! Mola

Thanks for your response. Yes, I heard you have to useelectonic cleaner, that other solvents (including wd40) will not work and may distroy the MAF/MAS. The cleaning instructions from Ford and other makes say there are some sensitive parts you want to avoid, and certain gromlets and plugs you can move to make it easier to do. Was looking for that type of info. Have cleaned the MAF/MAS before? Thanks again, Mola
