Bog Problem
I recently purchased a 01 eclipse rs from a private dealer. About a week ago i decided to throw in an aem cai. I used the same MAF, and it sits exactly where it did on the stock intake. As soon as i put it on, my car would bog when i tried to accelerate. It appears to be missing firing and i had the computer check the code. Came up P0300, a random misfire. Now it doesnt happen everytime i accelerate, just off and on. I have put new cheap spark plugs in, but plan to get a set of ngk's in a few days, but ive got the feeling it wont solve my bog problem. Any ideas?
This problem code can be caused by a vacuum leak in the intake manifold, throttle body, vacuum plumbing, or it could be unmetered air entering the intake manifold (MAF sensor). If you don't figure out the problem I would install the old intake and this will tell you if the cause is your intake. Also double-check your hoses and make sure they're all hooked up correctly. I highly doubt you got anything in your engine!!
