i have a 97 gsx

im lookin for a a cat back system what should i look for and some prices, or some places to look?

Carefull with ebay there are alot of nock offs. Check out www.slowboyracing.com and www.buschurracing.com and also www.amsperformance.com and www.extremepsi.com . These are all great companies and i have purchased things form extreme before and it went off without a problem. They are all reasonable prices on there. Ever thought about a turbo back?

When it comes to chosing one it all comes down to what you want it to sound like. Nobody can personally advise you what to get because everyones taste is different.

Personally i love my 5Zigen cat back for many reasons. 1 being that it feels like its not louder than stock. It dosent scream rice and yet it still rumbles the car and makes you feel alive at any RPM. It really isnt loud at all and the only thing that is different from stock is when you feel it. The vibrations are much different. For example if the car pulls up in the drive way you will feel it vibrating the floor but when you are right up close to it, it appears really quiet. Thats why i love it.

I dont really know what to advise you to do when trying to decide. I think there is a page on here with all the different exhaust sounds but i dont know where it is. Keeping in mind that sometimes recording devices dont always play it back with the same dynamics as real life and can sound totally different.

Whatever you get make sure it is 100% for your car, If it says the exhaust will fit GST and GSX. Then walk away becuase it wont fit right guarenteed. You can only get one for the gsx. And make sure you get a name brand too, greddy, hks, apex, ect.
