Hey man, dont mean to be a dick about it. but we have talked about this so many times. Try searching first. Look under the Mitsubishi Eclipse & Eclipse Spyder topic. And then click under GST/GSX performance mods. It gives you a couple ideas.

By the way, I have a 95 GST with a Greddy Evo2 catback exhaust. Its not too loud and not too low. It has a nice low deep rumble. But everyone has their opinions. By the way, about welding. Yes you do need to weld on a muffler, but not a catback exhaust. They are both different. The muffler is welded to the exhaust piping and a catback exhaust is a bolt on. Try looking up catback exhausts. The catback exhausts are bolt on. They bolt on from the catalytic converter back.

dont ever just buy only a muffler, EVER. You will hate yourself later for it and most importantly you will see no hp gain. Get at least a good catback exhaust system. (3" piping). Be carefull buying from ebay, if you do then know that it is authentic brand. Because if you get one that is for your car it may not fit right and youll have to have someone do custom work just to get it on there. And also the ones on ebay, if it says its for all eclipse models, then dont get it cuz most likely it wont fit right because each model requires different bends (GST, GSX, spyder, ect.)

I think you guys summed it up pretty good. What I did to find which exhaust I liked for my car was search online through google and yahoo for cat-back exhaust systems and I researched a lot different types and listen to a lot of different sounds clips. Basically if you get a decent cat-back system like Apexi or Greddy your going to get the same hp gains. So its down to which one you like best for look and sound
