So im thinking of gettin the carbon ti. I'm just going to get the muffler and have a shop bend me some pipe because that will be cheaper but my question is should i go with the 4.5 inch tip or the 3.5 inch???? They both should have that same deep noise to them right? Which one?

If you look at the site it tells you that the inlet pipe diameter is different from the two. the 3.5" tip is for the 2.5" piping and the 4.5" tip is for the 3" pipinig. So you need the 4.5" tip because you definetly want to get 3" piping. However i warn you if you are having someone making custom piping for you, it has to be fully mandrel bent piping. So make sure thats what your getting. Otherwise your wasting your money

john, what's the difference? my friend w/ the mazda 6 has been making exhaust systems for cars for over 3 years now by some simple 3" exhaust tubing and a welder.

have you seen the difference between a mandrel bend and a regular bender. A typical bending machine will insert the pipe and then do whats called a ram style bend. It just pinches the pipe. But this cuases a deformation and at the bend the pipe diameter is decreased. However when something is mandrel bent it will maintain the diameter thoughout the bend so that you dont create a restriction in the pipe at all. Cuz would you ever buy a 3' downpipe with a 2.5" catback, of course not so why would you want the pipe dia at a bend to do it.

i was reading somewhere and it said that the Carbon Ti and the Hi-power are the same sounding muffler. Just different looks, does anyone know if this is true?

i woudnt doubt it. Alot of their exhaust mufflers sound alike. Probably cuz they use the same type of inner muffles or something
