Default Mushroom filters

OK! so... by x or y reasons i ended up with a mushroom type filter for my ram intake on my hands... you know me, i dont usually go with the cheap stuff... but i got this for free... and it doesnt look ugly.... i also know the shroom filter is not as quite as popular as the recular cone type... is there a reason for this? the worst comment i heard is that if its a cheap brand the foam will harden, crumble and get sucked into the engine... but this doesnt look bad quality....

What kind is it? Just make sure to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't start withering away if you're going to take the chance with it.
