If somone could tell me what exhaust and intake would sound the best but for not much money. my friend told me to just ebay a muffler and weld it on and take off the resinator. Is that a good way to? Or do i need to get a whole exhaust system?

i have a 99 eclipse gs. so injen intake? am i going to want cold air?

 

honestly i wouldnt bother building up the 2.4L GS unless your going for a turbo down the road, but if your just going for sound then i would just get the short ram. The cold air isnt really going to make a difference. You might be looking at a 1hp difference for the extra 100$ you would have to spend on the cold air....not worth it IMO. Plus, when you have a CAI you run into the risk of getting hydrolock from running into deep puddles that would submerge the filter because it sits so low.

 

i think you meant 2.0L . But anyway, if your gonna get exhaust for sound then get a good catback system, trust me if you just get a muffler it will sound like *** and you will hate it. But with the car you have your really not gonna get to great of a sound. Also dont go to big on the piping becuase you can actually loose performance doing that as well. And for the intake, i agree with dixon, go with the short ram
