Default spair tire tub cut out!

ok has eny one cut out where the spair tire sits in an eclips and welded in a pice of sheet metal. i am trying to lose as much weight as possible so if any one has pics of this done please share.

also would this affect the structural strength of the car it's self>

thanks

i dont think youll take any structural stability away but i dont really see much of a gain there. It cant be that much of a weight reduction.

well if i am going with max weight drop it might be worth it, plus it would give it a little cleaner look on the in side

true! but every pound lossed is a second gainded, i hope!

but 20 here and 20 there start to add up i am puting a carbon fiber hatch on, so that will really knock down the weight even more.

well i think the general rule is something like 1/10th for every 100 lbs. But every car reacts differently. But thats kinda the rough idea. If you have a N/A eclipse then obviously it will have less effect taking off weight than it would with a turbo.
