I have a 96 galant, All the bulbs are turning on with the lights, how ever when the brake is engaged the brake lights do not activate, is there a sensor somewhere, is this a comon problem with these cars? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you for your time.

 

Check the brake switch at the pedal. If you look above the brake pedal you will see a switch that gets relased when you engage the pedal, that switch is probaly out of adjustment or has just come loose. If it is their and appears to be funtioning properly check voltage with a multi meter at the wire should be a green wire at the switch that goes to 12v when the brake switch is depressed.
