1991 3000GT VR-4 Problem.... Please HELP!!
You ordered a PTU? I hope you didn't spend the crazy bux that the dealershipwould charge you. It's available at Autozone (online only) for less than $80. Don't try to order it at the store. It has been tested and verified by many users at www.3si.org.
Another tip contrary to the instructional at the www.stealth316.com site- when replacing the PTU, you don't have to go through the entire hassle of removing the stuff listed in the site. After disconnecting the electrical connectors, simply use a long phillips screwdriver and unscrew the PTU from the bracket and remove- remove the new PTU from it's bracket and install it in onto the original bracket in reverse order. There's absolutely NO NEED to replace the PTU WITH ITS BRACKET. 5-10 minutes and you're done. All of that other wasted steps is required if you replace the entire PTU and bracket - again which is NOT neccesary. A long screwdriver can reach through the coils and onto the 2 screws holding the PTU.
Good Luck!

Well...Im stumped,I suggest you check the fuel rail pressure,Its possible that you have an injector hanging up,or fuel pump pressure is dropping off for some reason.I know you said you replaced the fuel filter, but there is a "sock" on the fuel pump in the tank. This is obviously designed to filter out big chunks of sediment before it gets ingested into the pump. You might wanna take a look at it.On my 96 theres an access plate in the "trunk" that makes it easy to do.Since the Check engine light isnt popping on when this occurs,I doubt if its a cylinder misfire...I hate these little issues....[:@]
to N5926g: It has a New Fuel Pressure Regulater on it as well, SO i dunno, i will check that fuel pump sock tonite, when i get done workin on my motorcycle, so we will see what happens! Maybe the sock is just filthy, i've thought it was trash before, but never inspected for it, so what the heck it definetly wont hurt to look!, and Thanks for that idea as well!
